Please note the spa is not on property but a short shuttle ride provided by the hotel. You could probably walk it in 10 minutes as long as it’s not too hot. The reception area is fully stocked with any skincare product you can think of. There is a steam room, sauna and very nice relaxation room with water and snacks. The staff was very polite and served champagne before my treatment.I do agree with other reviewers that the spa, while luxury, is showing signs of age. It was probably really nice 20 years ago. Like the rooms at the hotel, it is time for a renovation. That did not bother me so much as there was not a consistent attendant in the women’s changing area. There were towels in the showers, used cups in the changing area that should be cleaned up a little faster. They were there before I went into my 80-minute treatment and there when I came out. I didn’t want to shower as I am sure it hadn’t been sanitized after the last guest.My therapist was excellent and overall the service was good. There are limited luxury spa options in Savannah, so I would probably return.

My husband took me on a surprise anniversary trip to the Westin and booked a surprise massage for the two of us. When I filled out my paperwork it asked if I was pregnant and I circled yes. Unless I overlooked something, it was a yes or no question. No other questions were asked. I changed and waited in the locker room until my name was called. When the massage therapist took me back to my room she gave me instructions about the hot stone massage. I will add that my therapist herself was kind…but I’m assuming she didn’t review my paperwork? I then proceeded to remind her that I was pregnant…as she hadn’t mentioned it yet (also to add, I was unaware of my pregnancy when my husband booked the stone massage). The therapist informed me that since I was still in my first trimester, they would not provide ANY type of massage services to me. I asked if she could check with someone as that sounded very strange. She said she would check and to remove my robe and get under a sheet while she checked with her manager as some women have signed a wavier in the past. Another woman then came into my room, while I was undressed and under the sheet and told me “you are pregnant ma’am, no, we cannot provide you any services. I reluctantly replied with…really? This is very odd.” She said yes ma’am please get up and put your clothes on.” HOW HUMILIATING and UNPROFESSIONAL. Not to mentioned, I did notify them on my paperwork that I was pregnant. Why did they let me get that far if they wouldn’t treat me? Once I was dressed, I asked if they could do a facial or something while my husband was having a massage. They told me they were booked but they would try to find an opening later in the day or the next day. That however was not helpful. They did not offer me a drink, or to sit in the woman’s lounge, nothing. The therapist appeared apologetic but unable to help me, the other woman, however, was not and obviously was not interested in offering any reprieve. I understand policies and procedures, however, this was very poorly handled. Also made me feel like I was being punished for being pregnant and like I had done something wrong…even though I disclosed it.I was saddened that they couldn’t at least work me in for another service but this is the kicker. My husband’s service had just begun and I politely asked them to notify him that I wasn’t going to be treated. I let them know that my husband had my phone and room key with his things. I was not worried as I expected us to be done at the same time. They said ok we will, I waited in the lobby 15 min, asked again if someone could notify my husband’s therapist, they said ok we will see what we can do. Well, I waited around in the hotel lobby alone for an hour, on our anniversary, while my husband was being treated for a service he didn’t even care about. He was doing WITH me. They waited for his therapist to finish, let him pay for his service and tip before telling him that his wife wasn’t treated and was waiting in the lobby. He was furious. I could not be more disappointed in how this was handled. It took a while to get over this experience and attempt to enjoy the rest of our stay.
