Does Purdue offer intramural sports? ›

Welcome to Purdue Intramural Sports!

Summer registration will open in June, no IM Pass is required for summer sports. If you have any questions about Intramural Sports, IMLeagues, or employment opportunities, please email imsports@purdue.edu. Our office can also be reached at 765-494-3117.

Not every team is eligible for playoffs. Your team will automatically make the playoffs if you have a . 500 or better record in your league and your team has a sportsmanship rating of three or better for the duration fo the regular season.

Players can play on one single-gendered team (Men's Open/Fraternity/Men's Res Hall or Women's Open/Sorority or Grad/Fac/Staff) and one Co-Rec team within each sport. Flag Football is played with 7 player in single gendered leagues and 8 players in Co-Rec.

You can walk-on at just about any college. You need to find the coach and talk to him. Coaches know that in most instances walk-ons have a lot of ambition and drive. If your any good then you will probably play on the scout team in practices and from there it's up to you.

While intramural sports are made for casual fun, club sports are non-varsity competitive sports that require players to display a higher level of skill and commitment. “Club sports offer the opportunity to play against other college's clubs,” Starrett explains.

Club sports are a step up from intramurals but a step down (in terms of competitiveness) from collegiate sports. Club teams are more competitive and require tryouts to join.

In the split, all IUPUI athletic teams are going to IU Indianapolis. While IU Indianapolis will still be the Jaguars, the school will not recruit students who are interested in pursuing engineering or other Purdue degrees going forward.
