Good question. Disney has a massive IP umbrella from Disney, Disney TVA, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Fox, and National Geographic as well as the resources to make such a game. They’ve slipped up recently in films and attractions so why not create something possibly reputation-saving? Many on YouTube such as Ediz & Ben, MarioFan260, Romanode, Anthony Morris and mainbeach have all made their pitches and due to that, I’m gonna make my pitch right here, right now. Since Disney would be such a large task, I’ve decided to settle on Pixar smash bros.
I’m gonna go over each film, franchise, and possibly short, so we could see how and what it would look like. First, let me set some ground rules.

GROUND RULES[]
Alright, here we go. No more than 1 fighter per film (unless an echo fighter). We don’t want franchises to be too big when it comes to representation. However, those franchises who have more than one film are allowed to have as many fighters as there are films. Not all films will follow this rule, as they may have less fighters than movies, but NEVER above. This means Toy Story gets as much representation as four films and a myriad of shorts, while, say, UP gets one fighter. Toy Story is technically allowed a fifth fighter due to the trainwreck at the box office that was Lightyear (2022) (although I think that it was pretty good) but four fighters is already overkill as it is. Each movie is also allowed up to two items (one food), one stage, and up to two assist trophies. Each fighter I’ll describe will have an Up B, Neutral B, side B, Down B, and a final smash! Now with that, let’s go!
Pixar Shorts[]
Our first “franchise” is technically the Pixar short films. Those that aren’t based on movies anyway. We’ve got clever ideas for the Pixar Shorts characters though. Our first fighter: LUXO JR!
Fighter 01: Luxo Jr.[]
Say hello to the first fighter, the mascot himself! He debuted in the 1986 Pixar short film of the same name. He, like Mario, is balanced, making him easier to pick up and play.
His moveset includes:
Input | Reference | Name | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Dazzling Flash | Luxo Jr flashes a bright light from his bulb, briefly stunning nearby opponents. | ||
Playful Bounce | Luxo Jr side-knocks its iconic ball into nearby enemies, causing damage and knockback. Can ricochet back and be combo’d up to 2 times. | ||
Skyward Hop | Luxo Jr knocks his ball up into the air, potentially damaging opponents before bouncing off it as it sinks below him, gaining vertical height. | ||
Ground Pound | Luxo Jr jumps up and then smashes down onto the ground with great force, creating a small shockwave that damages and knocks back opponents in close range. | ||
Pixar Finale | Luxo Jr hops rapidly across the stage, stomping on all opponents in its path. The scene then transitions to the classic Pixar logo intro, with Luxo Jr bouncing on the letter "I," causing massive damage to any opponents caught in the animation. |
Alternate Costumes are pretty much just his regular color scheme and new colors.
- Up Taunt: Luxo Jr playfully bounces on his ball.
- Down Taunt: Luxo Jr wiggles as if he was ready to jump, similar to what he does before he jumps on the “I” in the Pixar logo.
- Side Taunt: Luxo Jr taps his ball with a nudge, making it roll back and forth slightly.
- Entrance Animation: Luxo Jr bounces onscreen as seen in the Pixar logo.
- Victory Pose: Luxo Jr spins around its ball in a circle, then strikes a pose with its light shining brightly.
- Victory Theme: Opening Notes of the Tin Toy (1988) music theme.
Stage: Render Farm[]
First stage: Render Farm! It is a simple stage, taking place within a digital grid. It is a stage with open ends like Flat Zone X or Wii Fit Studio. Occasionally 3D models of characters float by above the stage, damaging players that make contact. Also occasionally, the bottom surface will circularly warp for a second before firing a powerful beam of 1s and 0s, representing code.
Assist Trophies[]
Picture | Character | Debut | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Andre & Wally B. | (1984) | Andre flies around by grabbing the legs of Wally B while he shoots stingers at opponents. | |
Tinny | Tin Toy (1988) | Tinny, via making a bunch of racket, summons the baby Billy, who terrorizes the stage by tossing opponents. | |
Knick | Knick Knack (1989) | Knick, desperate to escape his snow globe, uses a jackhammer to shake up the camera and damage/stun nearby opponents. |
Items[]
Image | Item | Debut | Effect |
---|---|---|---|
Red | Red’s Dream (1987) | Allows whoever picked up the item to ride him around the stage, dealing damage. | |
N/A | Cereal | Studio Stories: Pixar’s Cereal Bar (2011) | Works as a food item. |
Next franchise! And I think you know and love this one!
Toy Story[]
Now, Toy Story is Pixar’s golden child, it’s magnum opus, its second-largest in terms of cash generation. The first is Cars (big surprise), but we’ll get there later. This does mean that Toy Story will be the “fire emblem” of Pixar Smash, so there’s going to be a lot here. Now, Let’s begin with our fighters!
